Sunnyside is a small populated place in Hopewell Township. It borders along Raystown Road, State Route 26, near the northwest corner of the township, just to the west of the Borough of Hopewell in Broad Top Township. In 2001, an Amerindian camp site was uncovered in the vicinity of Sunnyside.
Archaeologists dated the Sunnyside site to approximately 3,500 years old, or 1500 B.C. The evidence of fire pits were located in the dig. One pit contained broken pieces of pottery indicating that it was a cooking fire pit. Pottery shards were the only artifacts found at the site. No stone tools or weapons were unearthed.
