Phillips Rangers Massacre Remembrance Ceremony

Captain Phillips Monument Road, off Route 26 (Raystown Road) near north corner of Liberty Township (four miles north of Saxton).

   A Remembrance Ceremony will be held at the Phillips Rangers Massacre Memorial to remember the lives of the Patriots who served under Captain William Phillips, and who, on 16 July 1780, were massacred and the Captain and his son, Elijah Phillips, who were taken into years of captivity at Quebec by Seneca Amerindians led by British Lieutenant John Dockstedder.

   Cost: Free

      If you wish, please bring your own lawn chair.
