A few individuals from Bedford County served in the United States Army during this little known conflict.
Joseph D. Browell Sr., of Hopewell and Roy E. Calhoun of Breezewood were stationed in Germany during the conflict. Also serving in Germany from 1957 to 1960 was Herbert L. Clark. Homer R. Allison served in the Marine Corps in the early 1950s. Paul Imgrund served in the navy in 1956-57. John Ray Koontz served in Germany during this time. Conrad Wesley Leach served at Germany from 1958 to 1959. Harry R. Miller and Dorsey L. Ripple both served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962. Wayne C. Lehman served in Germany for a year and a half. Curtis E. Cox was stationed in Germany in 1963.
